I predict in its first month, 5 million units will be sold, and in its entire lifespan, we'll see 85 million sold (at a minimum).
My reason being: We know pre-orders flew like hot cakes and there is still interest for it on day 1. Early adopters aka the loyalists are who Nintendo is banking on. And there's a lot of early adopters now thanks to the Switch 1 success. Nintendo is so confident of this immediate momentum they aren't sending out review consoles early to the news media. "We don't need your publicity, people will come to us regardless" is their mentality.
That being said, I don't think the Switch 2 will outsell the original. That usually doesn't happen for Nintendo, and once the flood of early adopters stop adopting I'm still unsure if a lot of people (especially in this economy) will see an incentive to buying a new console. But what do you think?
