My Thoughts on the Closure of the Hiroshima Sky-Rail
2For the past 26 years, there was a gondola-monorail hybrid transportation system called the Sky-Rail, located inside Hiroshima Prefecture. It had a very steep grade and was featured on many YouTube channels, both in Japan and abroad.
However, due to the declining yen, the operators of the Sky-Rail went into debt, and they have decided to close the line two days ago and replace it with (you guessed it) electric buses.
As I stated in my January rant about Electric Vehicles and extremely cold weather, I will provide my opinions about why the transition from this state-of-the-art transport system to electric buses is just sad.
