Last week on RAW: Brock Lesnar and Neville were scheduled into a tag match that went disastrous for them. Both Superstars were clearly focused on trying to one-up each other before their WWE Universal title match.

Goldberg says that the problem he has with Chris Jericho's answer for a rematch to “meet him in the Rumble” is that as it stands right now, Goldberg is not in the Royal Rumble match because he is not within RAW's top 15 ranked Superstars. So tonight, Goldberg is calling out...not Chris Jericho...but the reigning WWE Universal Champion Neville.
Goldberg is impressed with Neville's recent resurgence, defeating Brock Lesnar several times and defeating two behemoths in a handicap match last week. However, Goldberg's will to compete in the Rumble match outweighs his respect for Neville and Goldberg challenges Neville to a match tonight.
RAW Commissioner, Stephanie McMahon has pre-approved this match but stated that it could not be contested for the WWE Universal Championship. Goldberg is fine with that because it's only a matter of time before that championship is around his waist and after he beats Neville tonight he'll immediately qualify to enter the Rumble match where he will win after throwing out 29 other Superstars. He simply states that he thinks that Neville is an easy victory for him tonight and his meal ticket to enter the Royal Rumble match.
Last week on RAW: Karl Anderson defeated Cesaro. Afterwards, Sheamus saved Cesaro from a vicious assault by Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows, preventing a serious injury at the hands of their remorseless rivals. Tonight, an angry Cesaro has challenged Anderson to a rematch!

Backstage: Stephanie McMahon has been mulling over Sasha Banks' request to team up with Nia Jax last week and has decided to make that match happen tonight. It will be Sasha and Nia against Charlotte and Paige. However, Stephanie isn't doing this for Sasha to redeem herself after her Survivor Series team loss but rather because she sees a lot in Nia Jax and practically guarantees that the women's Team RAW would have won at Survivor Series had Nia been on it.
With Stephanie's vendetta against Survivor Series 2016 Team RAW members, Charlotte, Sasha Banks and Bayley in mind, if Nia Jax defeats either Charlotte or Paige tonight then the RAW Women's Championship match at the Royal Rumble this Sunday will become a Fatal 4-Way match with Nia inserted!

Last week on RAW: Kofi Kingston lamented not being ranked high enough to participate in this year's Royal Rumble match. He reminisced about all of his unforgettable Rumble moments and vowed not to simply sit back and watch the Rumble go by without him this year so he issued a challenge to any RAW Superstar ranked in the top 15.
The RAW General Manager Mick Foley listened to Kofi's request and granted it in the form of a match against “The Face of America” Kevin Owens. If Kofi wins then he's in and Owens still keeps his Rumble spot. Win-Win!

In the following 8-Man Over The Top Rope Battle Royal: The Undertaker, Braun Strowman, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns are looking to mane a statement and gain some extra momentum headed into the Royal Rumble match this Sunday at the Royal Rumble.
There will also be four additional WWE Superstars who will compete in this Battle Royal. If any of those four Superstars can come out with a victory tonight then they will earn entry into the Royal Rumble match!

Lesnar has had his fun and now playtime is over. “The Beast” is going to yank the WWE Universal Championship from Neville (possibly taking his arm with it) and then go on to WrestleMania where he will do exactly what he did at last year, victimize whoever stands across the ring, demolish their dreams and salt the earth where those dreams once stood.
