MyFirstNSFSong (my first FamiTracker song from February 2016)
So, I figured that I would share with you the very first song I made in FamiTracker, made back in February 2016.
A little about my music background:
I started making music back in November 2014 when I found an app on my iPad called Auxy (the original version, which has since been superseded by Auxy Studio), and I made music on that app for about three years. I knew of chiptune music at the time, but I had assumed that some trickery was done to make music for the old consoles. I did discover FamiTracker before finding Auxy, but it wasn't until February 2016 that I downloaded the program. Here's some things you'll notice here:
1. I used 256 rows, because I was new to making tracker music
2. I didn't know about the RP2A03's limitations at the time, so I didn't know that the Triangle has no volume control
3. At the last pattern, you'll notice that I attempt to use more than 1 custom sound at the same time on the VRC7, because I didn't know about the limitations of the soundchip (and by extension the Yamaha YM2413, which the VRC7 is a derivative of).
4. Hi-hats on the DPCM channel, using the noise only for the crash cymbal (which I wonder why I did so to this day, but I was still new to making tracker music at the time).
So, that's the very first song I've ever made in FamiTracker.
