A full run of the Amiga version of the game, Myst ported/released by Clickboom in 1997. The game supports a moderately powerful Amiga with 68030@50 and 8 megs of fastmem and supports both AGA and RTG gfx. Game was entirely installed to HD so no stutter animation to load from the CD.

The game has no transition effects between screens to aid performance on slower Amigas. Would have been nice to have the feature for faster 040/060 machines. The gfx are always 256c on both aga and rtg versions (well actually 253 colours as the images are remapped to work with the Amigas mouse pointer colours). It is perhaps the worst port of the game, but still plays well non the less and we were fortunate to get a game like this on the Amiga at all. I never actually tried it, but I suspect the original Mac release of the game would work well within Shapeshifter or Fusion emulators allowing you to play the game in its full glory on fast 040/060 Amiga.

Regarding the longplay, I went in thinking I knew the puzzles well enough to just jump in and record. I was wrong, and spend too long clicking things and could have shaved another 10-15 minutes off this video I think. A lot I was able to edit out, but it would have sounded messy just cutting chunks out. Actually, if you know the answer to the final puzzle you can actually complete this game in under 5 minutes, but I chose to go the long route and show everything.

I have included showing of the book pages in the library that give a bit of background to each island. You should pause the video if you want to read them all, although I have left a sizable gap between page turns. I also show getting all the blue and red pages and the video clip before moving onto the next age,

There was an annoying bug in my copy of the game, which I don't recall happening when I completed the game years ago. The sound effects for North and South positions didn't appear to work, even though the files exist and no errors reported in the games log file. I had to guess if I had moved the building into the correct position and write down the correct track route later in the game. An actual bug is around the dock control switch. A file path error in the executable looks in the wrong place for one of the images. I don't know if id call it a bug, but when loading a saved game, the game remembers the positions of switches and such like, so when it came to recording, it looks like the puzzle was already done.
