Myst (No Commentary Walkthrough)
0Myst is one of the seminal graphic adventure PC games of all time, certainly in the puzzle genre, and I'm excited to finally play it here on this channel and (spoiler alert) beat it for the first time in my life.
Designed by two brothers in Rand and Robyn Miller, Myst has frustrated and delighted gamers since its release in 1993 with its enigmatic interactive world.
Despite being released 30 years ago, it still has a visual charm (I'm playing the 1999 Myst "Masterpiece Edition" which is essentially the same game which was initially released in 93' but able to run on modern machines without issue), a great soundtrack, and a fascinating story about a missing father, Atrus, and his two sons, Sirrus and Achenar, who have been imprisoned within two different books. As we collect additional pages from each book, we learn more information from the two sons, but with each telling us a different tale it's difficult to know the truth or whom to trust.
