NAL is Dead is a compilation of games by NAL, ranging from 2003 to 2015, when he abandoned NALGames and joined Chequered Ink. It's available for purchase here: https://ci.itch.io/nal-is-dead

Seeing a game developer's progression this well documented is fascinating. I recommend you buy the package because it also comes with a pdf file discussing most of the games along with other miscellaneous goodies.

In this video, I play everything NAL released in 2003. And yes, I realized about halfway through that I should have lowered my desktop resolution.

If it seems like I'm going through the games in a random order, it's because I'm following the 'release order' specified by a file in the package.

Gemocide: A pretty straightforward game of getting to the cash. The diamonds block you and if you and one of the diamonds move towards each other, you can become stuck. It mostly just becomes a game of patience of running into diamonds until they get out of your way. The key recognition is a bit spotty. Often holding multiple directions will prevent you from moving until you let go of all buttons. Surprisingly not the worst game I've played recently.

Gemocide II: This one introduces 'fancy' tiled backgrounds and invalidates my strategy of running into diamonds until they move. Unfortunately, if you hit a diamond, it reverses your movement direction until you release the key. The levels where you control multiple characters were actually pretty enjoyable.

Gemocide III: Music! And my strategy is valid again! Which promptly gets me stuck so I have to reset the game. There's actually a meaningful score in this one but it has more in common with the first game in the series than the second.

Clickfire: For some reason, the loading screen says it's loading Asteroids. Not much to say about this one. You use the arrow keys to move your cursor and spacebar to shoot.

FATMAN Skateboarder: As I messed around with in Gemocide, you can totally cheat by moving off the screen. Also, once you hit up or down, there doesn't seem to be any way to straighten yourself out again.

FATMAN Skateboarder 2: This one doesn't seem to have any differences other than a new character sprite.

FATMAN Skateboarder 3: Same with this, but this boasts a new song along with a new sprite. The song choice is bizarre.

Marble Run: Not much to say about this one, other than that the first level takes up approximately 1% of my screen. And both teddy bears are totally valid exits on the second level. I didn't get far in this one.

Terminal Velocity: The developer claims he removed copyrighted content from the game, but the music is definitely a midified 'Losing My Religion' by REM. Not sure why (or how) planes are flying so low to the ground that they can hit your car, but eh, who knows. [Editors note: content ID actually identified the song, so this video is monetized by REM now. I could attempt to remove it but I think it adds something to the video, so it stays.]

Terminal Velocity 2 - 64: Both #2 and #64. Also with an uglier car sprite and less catchy music. And a bizarre way of progressing to the next wave by hitting the arrow icon as it dropped down from the screen. Mysteriously, it seems to share a leaderboard with the original game. I'm guessing that my registry's going to be considerably more crowded after I finish this pack.

Super Blokman: I'm about 90% sure this is a midified version of a song from a Donkey Kong Country game. I touched a pixel of the ooze and had to start over. Jokes on the game, I have something like 100 more of these to go. I don't need to spend a long time one one game.

Small point about the following games: While they were in the 2003 folder, the documentation claims that they were actually made in the latter half of 2004. Just so you know. If you're on Jeopardy and they ask which fighting game was made by NAL in the latter half of 2004, remember it's K-Fight, even though this video claimed it was 2003.

K-Fight: Yes, I'm controlling both characters. Yes, you don't take damage if you're punching or kicking. Yes, you can punch and kick indefinitely. Yes, it's java compatible. Yes, I'm pretty sure some of these backgrounds are taken from other games. But man, I destroyed that target.

K-Fight 2: Double the levels. With shurikens. I have them hug at the end because they seemed like they were tired of fighting.

K-Fight 3: These controls are getting complicated. Some great music (and mildly familiar-sounding) though. Except for the first track. That one's terrible. The character on the left is OP because he can move and attack, making him effectively immortal. If the player on the right attempts to move right and attack, he takes damage. Hei-Chan OP.
