I would not blame anyone for treating this video series as simple background viewing.

Stretching up to four hours per video in some cases and being nearly sixty parts in length, Namco x Capcom is probably one of the MORE extensive video series up on my channel to date.

As the title indicates, Namco x Capcom is a straight-forward cross-over game. It plays like a fairly typical turn-based strategic role-playing game (SRPG) with its own isolated story. The gameplay is limited to simple unit customisation and special abilities tied to each character more than anything yet I find the real appeal to this, as you could probably guess, comes from the dynamic built between the Namco and Capcom characters that feature in this game.

It is not very often that you see a Jin or Heihachi from Tekken cross paths with a Ryu or Ken from Street Fighter and, even in this error prone translation, the writing is top draw in this line of games.

That said, with a soundtrack by Yuzo Koshiro, this game does have a number of exceptional remixes to the usual assortment of Capcom and Namco sourced properties.

And with my game-time exceeding well over 100 hours, I think it is fair to say you can get yours moneys worth of Namco x Capcom. Unfortunately, without a proper Western release, this bug-ridden version of the game is the only way to experience it. HOWEVER, both Project x Zone and Project x Zone 2 - the sequels to Namco x Capcom, are not only easy to find but are relatively inexpensive too on 3DS.

But yeah, if you want a decent entry-point into these sort of RPGs, it is not a bad place to start.
