Developed by Studio Koba and published by Team 17, Narita Boy is an action-adventure platforming where you control the titular Narita Boy through the digital world in an attempt to restore the creators memories and stop the program HIM from corrupting the Motherboard and infecting the real world. Combat consists of hack and slash gameplay with dodges blocks and special Wildfire attacks to mix things up.
This game was a lot of fun. The deep and layered story really surprised me. Reminded me a lot of Tron and Ready Player One. What stands out the most in this game were the vibrant colors used. So vibrant at points that I wish I had sunglasses on. Combat was engaging though I wish it used it's wildfire elements a little more frequently to break things up better and keep it varied. Overall though, I really enjoyed my 7-10 hours I spent with Narita Boy and recommend it to fans of indie action-adventure platformers.
