Recently decided to dig into the game files of the Japanese game disc of Zelda: Four Swords Adventure (also known as Four Swords+) and decided to import the translated English files from the USA (NTSC-U) into the Japanese version.

Why did I do this? Because of Navi trackers being an exclusive game mode in the Japanese version of the game, and I don't want to constantly go back and forth between two game discs to play the different game modes.

With a lot of trial and error, I've managed to have the Hyrulean Adventure (with minor text being of to the side of the screen) working and in English. Shadow battle should be translated, but I have yet to test it on actual hardware. A.K.A. Play the game on a GameCube/Wii with some GBA link adapters. I will get around to it and see if it works. If it does, that's one extra video getting posted! LOL

Now for the noticeable edit:
With a lot of research of finding the right software file extractors, converters, injections, getting the right font, and playing around in Photoshop, I've managed to take the first step into translating Navi Trackers. While it's a very small step nor have I yet played around with the files in that game mode, I can worry less about having to change the title graphic in the mode selection screen. Albeit it looks a little too big and has a much thicker outline, it was a pretty good first attempt.

Now all I need to do is figure out how to edit the text in that mode to actually do some translating. If there is anybody out there that can help or at least know what software to use to edit the text in the mode (or in any GameCube game), contact me via Twitter @SeanDeSQRL as I refuse to utilize the Google+ change to my account. Yeah, I'm one of those guys.
