Before doing this cover I looked around Youtube to see what other people had done. It's a popular song with quite a few covers, but they were either old with lower quality samples or didn't have the kind of backing accompaniment I envisioned. I also wanted to represent the game's opening - you wake up in a forest and hear Nayru's singing in the distance. The first 30 seconds or so imitate that feeling.
