NBA 2K18 Pro Am Unable to Punish Their Help Defender
3A frustrating game where I was consistently getting past my defender but was being met at the rim by the opposing center, who was preventing me from going up with a shot since I only get standing -- not driving -- contact dunks on my sharpshooting post scorer. If our center's spacing and discipline was better, I could have easily passed out to him for an open mid range shot every time that his man came over to cut off my drive. But because our center kept cutting into the paint instead of staying put in the mid range, we were not able to consistently punish his defender for coming over and helping on my drives. The cherry on top of this frustration-filled sundae was my player getting pulled into a layup animation instead of being able to remain stationary and take the open jumpshot on the final possession of the game. The triggering range for standing layup animations extends too far out from the basket in NBA 2K18. The range should be much shorter than it currently is to allow shots like that one to become jumpers instead of triggering these long, drawn-out layup animations.
