NBA Action '94 (Sega Genesis) - Zilog and Moto #290
47If you've been around video games for the last 25 years or so, you've probably heard of the NBA 2K series, Visual Concepts yearly love letter to the game of basketball, that has been so consistently good, it killed Electronic Arts NBA Live series, despite several attempts to bring it back.
But, what came before NBA 2K? Well, technically, you can trace the lineage of the series all the way back to NBA Action '94, and while this original title was produced by Malibu Interactive and not Visual Concepts, VC would eventually take over the series before coming up with the 2K moniker.
Is NBA Action '94 a solid foray into the basketball sim world on Sega's part? Or was it clear that there was still a lot of work to be done to get things to something fitting of the 2K name? Take a look!
