i oiled up the tray gears and the lens rail with baby oil (aka mineral oil) on this NEC MultiSpin 2Vi (model number CDR-250) and it seem to work much better now!

The only thing is it need those 3-pins connector for audio...i might just grab a 4-pins on both ends, those who have 3 wires on the cable, and make one for that cdrom drive, so it'll be a 4-pins to 3pins cable.
