Here is my Summoner Build with Bone spear. Essence is restored by summoning healer priest skeleton on the dead corpses, with right talents he mega heals your skeletons and Golem and in return you quickly restore your essence to begin pumping out Bone spear.

* To start send in Bone golem or use decrepify, which will pull mobs slow and % chance to stun.

-Bone spear away, or wait to a corpse appears. Then use corpse Tendrils!

-Corpse tendrils, will pull mobs to centre, slow and then make vunerable. (need to be talented)

-Raise skeleton on corpses, which does 2 things, super heals summons & restores your essence.

And all the while your minions are smashing the shit out of your foes!! Feels only useable from mid 30s and higher. I focused on life and damage mods for my skeletons / Golem. First over bone spear.
