14The Circle has grown haughty, and with the assistance of Jonath and his forces we might yet find a way to push them out of our territory and secure a more permanent control over the Allfire node nearby. But Allfire is a powerful resource, and no doubt the Circle has pulled on its many resources to try to secure this location for their own nefarious purposes. Having finished terrorizing many of our local villagers, our armies are getting larger and hungrier by the day, but maybe the circle will offer us a way to simply... reassemble the number of mouths we have to feed.
This is SpellForce: Conquest of Eo, a 4X Tactical Combat/RPG Fantasy game but with some pretty interesting twists. The economy in particular is very different, and the campaign focus means that how you manage your units is also of prime importance. This game ticks a lot of boxes for me, calling pretty clearly on Heroes of Might and Magic and Endless Legend and Age of Wonders while also being very distinct from them, so if you are interested in something different and new I hope you find you are in the right place!
