A full playthrough of the beginner knockout competition. There are seven races and seven opponents, whoever places last after each round is eliminated.
This only has two laps per race, but unlike tournament mode you can't save between races or reset if you mess up, so you have to live with every mistake. The final round is tense, because if you lose you'll have to restart the whole forty minute competition from scratch.
To make it harder, the last track, the Gotham-ish Empire City, is full of hazards and only available in this mode at first, so you can't practice it. Winning the competition will unlock it for use in other modes.
There is a random element to this contest. As far as I can tell, the first four tracks are always the same, but tracks five and six are randomly picked from the last four tournament tracks, the final track is always Empire City. The random elements get more extreme in the expert knockout competition, which I'll show in another video.
I'm using the car I unlocked by winning the expert tournament, the Mercedes CLK-GTR. It's the second best car in the game.
