NEED HELP: Akai S2800 OS upgrade, Gotek Floppy Emulator not working

While documenting my Akai Sampler-upgrade I ran into some troubles getting the Gotek Floppy-emulator working.
I upgraded the Akai OS from 1.5 to 2.0 successfully and integrated a Gotek SFRC922AT3. However, no jumper-configuration seems to make the drive been recognized by the Akai Sampler.
Any advice?
- I did not (yet) upgrade to a HxC floppy emulator firmware, unless somebody tells me that this is key/essential to get things work.
- Same goes for FlashFloppy, I would prefer to stick to the original Gotek firmware unless somebody says this is needed.
