"When I think of video gaming from my youth it was Nintendo, Sega and the arcades. This was during a time when Arcades throttled much more power than consoles. So to get the full experience you would have to throw a few quarters in a Simpsons or ultimate mk3 cabinet, consoles were just never there yet. There was always a cabinet that seemed to be illusive to me. Very rarely seen but when you saw one in the wild it was something special, something different. The MVS, Neo Geo. With its unique light up marquee and line up of games, this Big Red Beast took me by my throat and coddled me with some of the most classic games of all time. Metal slug, Bubble bobble, Samurai Showdown, King of fighters and there sequels a like. I was hooked. Sadly the only place I knew that carried The Big Red beast went out of business and disappeared. My memories however, did not. Many years later I found a cabinet in a deli located in Iowa. I immediately had it shipped to Chicago. Having quite a bit of mileage on it, I was able to refurbish the machine back to its former prestige. You may have a sealed copy of earth bound, a Ninja turtles arcade or maybe even the sought after gold cartridge of Nintendo world championships. I captured this…The illusive Red Beast. It doesn’t connect to the internet or social media and it wont spit out achievements. It just, plays, games….I wouldn’t have it any other way."
