NES Jaws: How to Beat Jaws in 12.329 Seconds

This is a tool-assisted run that utilized FCEUX TASeditor. Video is 60 frames per second. This time includes the first frame the boat is visible up until and includes the frame of blood drawn on Jaws and is accomplished in the least amount of frames possible so that no frames remain to be removed. An original video was uploaded by JamEvil, which was done in 12.979 seconds, a really good performance to do manually, that gave me the idea to optimize and explain how this is accomplished.
This is accomplished through Debug Shortcuts.
Press and hold Up + Left + B on Controller 2, then hit Reset or Power On in order to enable the following functions:
During gameplay, press Start on Controller 1 to pause the game. Then, press and hold one of the following buttons on Controller 2 and press Start on Controller 1 to get the corresponding shortcuts:
Map mode: A gives "You've hit Jaws!", B gives "You've hit something!"
Diving mode: A exits the mode, B kills Jaws, and A + B gives an extra nine lives.
