This is Fearofdark's XM song, "Rolling Down the Street, In My Katamari", but sample #2 (the triangle wave) is replaced with the stepped triangle wave as generated by the NES' 2A03 chip.
Please note that the "shark fin" shape is not recreated here. The shark-fin shape is actually caused by the high-pass filter, and is not inherently generated by the 2A03 chip. Either way, the result should not be audible, so I thought it doesn't matter.
I realized that Fearofdark DOES NOT use a stepped triangle wave in his XM tunes, as opposed to his Famitracker songs. Could it be that he actually wanted the Famitracker songs to have a perfect triangle wave but he is limited by the hardware? If he preferred stepped triangle waves, he would have used 4-bit triangle wave samples in his XM tracks... But then, maybe the polyphony and volume control that XM had meant that he doesn't have to use a stepped triangle wave. I mean, I wouldn't know--nobody would know unless someone asked him.
