Never Alone - Playthrough with Overview in Description #nocommentarygameplay
Never Alone is a 2D platformer about the Iñupiat people that mixes gameplay with voluntary documentary videos to learn more about their culture.
The game is a story about a girl and an arctic fox who must work together to advance on the map and solve puzzles by switching between characters (2 player CO-OP is possible however). The graphic and sound do add to the atmosphere of being in the harsh realities of Alaska. The game is fairly easy to finish and a playthrough should take most players at least 2.30 hours. The biggest downside of the game is its slow and unresponsive controls which can lead to frustration, especially when jumping between obstacles and using spirit helpers, but also while aiming and switching characters. Sometimes there is also some rubber banding while jumping next to a wall
and characters or obstacles getting stuck so the game must be reset from checkpoint. This game is probably best suited for people that wants to know more about the culture of the Iñupiat rather than for its gameplay.
