Fourteenth segment of a run of Neverwinter Nights on the PC, with no patches or expansions.

After all this, we're finally at the end of the Chapter 1 main module. And what a way to end the ride. First a door that I only have a 20% chance of bypassing, then I have to convince four guys to leave (I'm not doing it for the alignment - I'm doing it to put the Intellect Devourer in the open as soon as I can).

And after all that, two fights back-to-back. The Head Gaoler is relatively easy as long as he doesn't target you, but the Intellect Devourer has several problems. One, he has damage reduction 5/+3, so since I can't get a +3 weapon this early as a monk, every attack I do inflicts 5 less points of damage. Second, he can randomly confuse people (which gets converted to stun because it's Easy mode) and turn invisible (and Daelan won't attack him if he's invisible).

I gain a level-up during this fight, which gives me an extra Stunning Fist to use. And stunning the Intellect Devourer is easier than stunning the Head Gaoler.

All in all, this is the best luck I've been able to record with this fight and still not screw up the Aribeth conversation. With that, we proceed to the end-of-chapter module, get healed fully - and come very close to our run-making glitch.
