Typically head-only videos don't have natural shoulder movements, and full body generation typically do not deal with facial expression control.
This new tech can generate ultra-realistic avatars of the upper body. With full movement.
You can even control the avatars with real video.
They provided some uncurated random generation results. Compared to other methods like AniFaceGAN, it is a lot better at generating avatars.
For training, they apply a dual-camera rendering scheme with two images separated rendered and three discriminators employed.
This tech will have countless applications
It is not out yet. But they plan to release the code on GitHub, which I will be reviewing when it is live.
