Read description for more information:

When you corrupt your boxes with Pomeg glitch corruption, it's possible for their nicknames to become corrupted. Pomeg glitch corruption can corrupt things like box data, Day Care data, flags and overworld data (if you use a Fluffy Tail to escape).

Possible corruptions for the index number of an address are bits 0 and 2 being set (so the game adds a value of +05 if both are unset, +04 if bit 0 is set already but bit 2 isn't, +01 if bit 2 is set already and bit 4 isn't) or bit 6 being set (+40 to the value if unset). Due to memory addresses not being static, you may have a hard time getting a specific result unless you use a "brute force" approach (like having many cloned Pokémon in the box or many Trainers on a map) but even so it may be hard.

Performing Pomeg glitch corruption
-----------------------------------

This is also known as the hidden party glitch, access Pokémon from beyond the sixth slot glitch or Glitzer Popping. I also use it in the following videos;

Get any Pokémon: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T5vjpqUxxVk
Corrupt box 1/2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R3XreB4GLnE

You need a Pokémon with enough HP EVs to get 'negative' HP when a Pomeg Berry is used at low HP, at least one fainted Pokémon (you can't do this glitch with just two Pokémon as far as I know) and a Pokémon that you'll switch to in the final slot.

1) Enter a battle and switch to the 'switch Pokémon' in the final slot.
2) Run and deposit the switch Pokémon.
3) Use a Pomeg Berry on the HP EV Pokémon to get it at 0 HP or 65535 HP. If the latter, use a healing item to get it at 0 HP.
4) Enter a battle
5) Open the Pokémon menu, view the summary of a Pokémon, then scroll up. The more you scroll up, the more addresses you'll corrupt; though the locations of the addresses are not static.

You can't do the Pomeg corruption glitch without trading in FireRed/LeafGreen, because the Pomeg Berry doesn't lower HP EVs in that version, however, you can pull off the glitch if you trade a "negative HP" Pokémon over.

You can't do the Pomeg corruption glitch at all in Ruby/Sapphire.

Performing this glitch
--------------------------

This is a battle error in Emerald/FireRed for when you force a new line arrow (hex:FB) character in a Pokémon's name using the Pomeg hidden party glitch. According to Metarkai, only the fourth and eighth characters of a Pokémon's nickname can be corrupted.

The index number of the character "A" is hex:BB, so (as you may have guessed) we'll want to use that character for the fourth/eighth character and get the second type of corruption (+40 or setting bit 6), because hex:BB + hex:40 is hex:FB. You can also get the first type of corruption to change a letter to E.

I use many cloned Castform (possible with the easier Emerald cloning glitch) called "AAAAAAAAAA". Then after activating the glitch, I scroll up for a while (you must keep scrolling up to corrupt more Pokémon).

It seems that depending on the personality value it may be hard to get the new line character in a Pokémon's name. Originally I had no luck, but when I used the personality value hex:45454545 I was able to get this to work, and had better luck.

Thanks to Metarkai for letting me know about the new line arrow glitch. http://forums.glitchcity.info/index.php/topic,6868.msg196789.html#msg196789

Effects
------------------

Emerald:
*The text after the down arrow in the Pokémon's name is hidden.
*The down arrow is surrounded by the background in the party menu.
*Sending out a Pokémon with a new line character in its name causes a red screen with "--" in it. Additionally, "H" and blue down arrows can be seen in the text box area. The fight box menu will be changed to a "-" surrounded by red.
*Selecting the Pokémon or viewing its summary from another Pokémon causes the arrow's moving down animation to play once.
*The new line arrow forces you to press A in battle to see the rest of the name.

FireRed differences:
*The appearance of the arrow is different.
*Corruption of the appearance of the items menu.

Ruby differences:
*The red screen effect does not occur, but the press A to continue effect still occurs.
*The Pokémon's name on the party screen is displayed as if there was no arrow.

Addendum: The FA character can also cause this glitch, which you should be able to get with the BA ("/") character.
