New Products: Colt, SIG Sauer, Trijicon & Real Avid
Brownells new product team leader Paul Levy is back from a short summer break to tell us about some of the awesome new gear that's come in recently. The RMR®cc is Trijicon's downsized version of their ever-popular RMR red dot sight. An RMR®cc will fit pistols as small as a Glock® 43 or a SIG P365 - and it's a great low-bulk sight upgrade for larger guns like the Glock® 19, too. A rugged all-aluminum housing protects the glass and the electronics inside, so it's ready to run hard; you can get your RMR®cc with one of two dot sizes.
SIG Sauer's Pivoting Contour Brace is designed for their MCX / MPX pistols, AND it's an excellent brace for the Brownells BRN-180™ lower receiver. In fact, it will fit any AR-15 or AK-type pistol with a Picatinny rail (MIL-STD 1913) attachment interface for a brace. The unique, low-profile forearm cuff opens up like a clamshell to reveal a nylon-web forearm strap. When not in use, this brace folds (pivots) forward parallel alongside the receiver.
Colt® Manufacturing has Brownells over a barrel - in a totally good way! Among the slew of genuine Colt® products coming online, is an impressive array of Colt® AR-15 barrels, including the much-in-demand 14.5" M4A1 carbine barrel. Colt® barrels come with all the sweet extras you don't get on cut-rate budget barrels: chrome-lined bore, military-type F-marked front sight tower with sling swivel / bayonet lug, and an inspection-marked M4 barrel extension. If you're going to be building up some AR-15s, you'll want Real Avid's new Pivot Pin Installation Tool, which makes the fiddly job of installing that pivot pin super easy and fast.
