The brain size of the dinosaurs has been a topic of much discussion and estimation over the last half century. Sometimes skulls are found intact enough for a general idea of the braincase, and therefore the space inside it where the brain was, to be estimated. What this does not tell you is the precise nature of each section of brain that was in there nor does it really tell you just how smart the animal was. A brand-new study from a neuroscientist takes a different approach to what made the dino brains tick and some of the findings, if backed up by her data, are extraordinary.
