Anyway I am a bit amazed that I haven't recorded any 100% ILs on New Super Mario Brothers 2 (3DS game). At least I did do a good 'full game' any%.

New Super Mario Brothers U feels a bit better to speed run than NSMB Wii probably because you can perform spin jumps, etc with buttons on the game pad, relying less on motion controls.

A speed runner named ewaller has been playing Any% with big shortcuts (secret exit paths) and the time is around 45 minutes, yes it's much longer than the previous NSMB games. The final boss is pretty tricky as well meaning a near flawless run like AndrewG's Super Mario Bros 4:58 is not going to be easy.

The Super Squirrel suit looks like it outclasses the Propeller hat from NSMB Wii but there are a few differences.

Whenever Mario performs the extra jump, the character always move left or right when performing the jump, it cannot go straight up. The other weakness is recovery descend feels worse than propeller.
However after a bounce Mario can reuse the extra jump. He can do a cape/tanooki style float which the propeller cannot do.
