18No, I didn't forget--rather, the single-screen stage where I have to pick up the 8 Toad markers is located right at the end, just before 2-Castle. This time, the stage features Spinies, the spike little enemies that the Lakitus drop. (Lakitus themselves will show up in one of these stages, but later on down the line.) The Spinies in this place walk on the ceiling, then drop down to the ground upside-down. This means their vulnerable undersides are exposed and Mario can stop them. The one on the top is too slow for Mario, but the ones on the bottom can be trouble. So instead, I take the one on the bottom-right and hit it against the one on the bottom-left, defeating both of them together.
