How do dark energy and dark matter transform our theories of gravity?

Theoretical physicist Erik Verlinde outlines his new theory which shows spacetime and gravity dissolve.

Erik Verlinde is a physicist and string theorist currently working at the Institute for Theoretical Physics at the University of Amsterdam, and best known for his theory of entropic gravity. He is the identical twin brother of physicist Herman Verlinde. The Verlinde formula, which is important in conformal field theory and topological field theory, is named after him.
