In today's Pokémon GO Episode we're discussing the latest Pokémon GO app update from Niantic, version 0.47.1. On the surface this update looks relatively meaningless, but behind the scenes there is surely a lot going on! Within this video we discuss some new code that has been datamined in the game, revealing that there may potentially be new "rare" variants of wild Pokémon, most likely shinies should Niantic stick to the Pokémon series' standard, news that you can no longer get xp from spinning Pokéstops with your bag full, new sound effects, text fixes, potential battle system tweaks, new changes to ditto, and much more!

Pokémon GO updated to version 0.47.1 for Android and 1.17.0 for iOS

Pokémon GO is in the process of being updated to version 0.47.1 for Android and 1.17.0 for iOS devices. Below are some release notes and comments from our development team.

Fixed an issue where the Egg-hatching cutscene animation would sometimes be briefly visible from the map view.
