โ โIn this particular case in security, AI is actually filling a need that has existed for the 10 years that I've been in the security space. There's always been this dearth of security professionals and now we can fill a lot of that gap with how we're using AI.โ
โ โWe're leveraging Vertex AI inside of the SymantecAI product portfolio to help us improve the protection โ everything from DLP (data loss prevention) to endpoint to CASB (Cloud Access Security Broker). All of those components are leveraging Vertex AI in order to help keep the customers safer.โ
โ โWhen you start looking at AI use cases specifically at Broadcom, we get a lot of telemetry from our endpoints that goes into a huge database. And Vertex AI is helping us bring those together to where we can find a pattern in one and a pattern in the other and then look at those collectively to see if we can find something more interesting. That intelligence is just a lot quicker. At the end of the day, that's helping make the world a safer place because we're able to protect data, we're able to protect intellectual property, and remediate quicker through the use of AI.โ
โ (On why Google Cloud) โA lot of that comes back to having confidence in what Google's products and services do so that we can kind of jump headlong into it. There's not a lot of decision-making on the back end that we need to do. We know that Google can be that partner we can go to and ultimately achieve what we want to achieve.โ
โ โWith Google Cloud, we can show that our velocity to market is a lot better than if we were to try out from scratch or with someone who we haven't done it with before. It's a partnership that really does benefit our mutual customers on both the semiconductor side as well as the software side.โ
