With the new YouTube rules in 2018, many channels on the cusp of the new requirements will need to understand YouTube Analytics to predict their watch time for February 20th. So let's jump in!

The new 2018 YouTube rules already apply for channels not currently in the YouTube Partner Program, but channels already in will NOT be grandfathered. Instead, we know that as of February 20, 2018, YouTube will be applying the new 2018 rules for channels already in the Partner Program to see if we'll be able to stay -- at that date, YouTube will evaluate if a channel has 1000 subscribers and 4000 watch time hours from the past 12 months.

If you look in YouTube analytics, you can change the date range to the last 365 days to see if you meet that requirement. Remember: 4000 hours is 240,000 minutes, so that's the hurdle you want to jump.

If you aren't quite over 240,000 minutes, don't fret -- in today's video, we'll use some quick calculus to determine how to estimate out to February 20th, 2018, using your current watch time history!
