The drift zones are sorted by region (in the same order as in the progression menu ingame), so that's how you know in which part of the map to look for them. The names and borders of the regions are visible on the map.
The drifting is kind of weird and unintuitive in this game and if you are looking for a guide on how to do smooth, long and beautiful drifts, then unfortunately I can't help you because I don't know how to do that either. What I can show you is how to get 3 stars in all the drift zones though because that's also possible without beautiful drifts if you have the right car and setup.
I ended up using the Mazda RX-7 with Speedcross parts for all of the zones, not only for the offroad ones but also on tarmac. With Showcase parts all of the cars that I tried didn't drift properly and were hard to control but with Speedcross parts the RX-7 can score pretty reliably, even though the drifting looks kind of stupid.
To start the initial drift I am just lifting the throttle. I am not using any brakes at all. I also didn't do any live tuning.
There are probably better cars and setups for drifting out there but this is the first acceptable combination that I personally found and for getting 3 stars in all the zones it is more than good enough. As you can see in a lot of zones my run wasn't even that great or I got a lot more points than I needed.
Hopefully this guide will help some people find all of the drift zones and getting 3 stars in them. :)
Now I have shown all of the collectibles and activities apart from the street art, which I might show some time later this week.
