A platinum medal in Need for Speed: The Run for the Plains Interstate challenge, "The Gap".

The AI in this challenge is a serious pain in the butt. It really likes to get in your way and make things difficult with unnecessary braking and general road hogging. Do everything in your power to get in front of them as soon as you can so you don't end up losing several seconds due to a forced collision.

One of the most important things to note about this challenge is that you do NOT want to take the shortcut. It always slows you down, despite looking like a great idea on the minimap. However, after testing it repeatedly, merely being on the dirt reduces your speed way too much to make it worth it, even after factoring in the boost gauge bonus gained from doing so. You will lose at least one full second from it, possibly even two.

And by the way, cut some corners when given the option, it'll give you a much better exit speed.
