Offensive moves include sidesteps, flip passes, dumps, dekes, one-timers, and speed bursts, with slap shots and wrist shots controllable using the analog thumb pad to guide them into the net. On defense, players can block shots, poke check, sidestep, check, hook, and block dumps. Fights are also part of the game. Players can opt to control their goalies at any time with the press of a button. Additional features include line changes, injuries, instant replay, multiple camera angles, three skill levels, and four game speeds. The frequency of both penalties and fighting can also be adjusted before play.
