Niantic surprised us (or not surprised us) with an announcement that we will be getting a Special Raid Weekend Event in Pokemon GO featuring the highly coveted Rayquaza. However, it seems like players are extremely disappointed that we will NOT be getting a Shiny Rayquaza too.

The disappointment could stem from a leak that stated that Shiny Rayquaza was going to happen. Let's explore whether or not this disappointment is really Niantic's fault.
