Let's start this series with a game I have adored for years, and until now, struggled to make a video on! NieR Automata really is something special. It covers so many complex themes, effortlessly juggles multiple gameplay styles, and it delivers a multilayered story that whilst heavy on anime tropes, still routinely hits hard, and it's all set to a hauntingly beautiful soundtrack to boot.
For many it was their introduction to a series that started back with a different set of games entirely, and it remains immensely popular years after it's release.
