Since we're playing as 9S, he's not a good close combat fighter like 2B, but he's really good at hacking other machines, which can damage them or even make them as allies. We also encounter gold-plated machines in our previous playthrough.

2B wasn't able to kill them by ease, but with 9S hacking powers... anything is possible.
