DESCRIPTION ▼
NieR Automata's final secret has been uncovered by Australian video game hacker Lance McDonald - which skips straight to the final moments of the game and unlocks hidden features. McDonald reverse-engineered the game to reveal the input required to perform the skip.

The input must be done after defeating the boss of the prologue, and can be performed by positioning 2B between 2 barrels in the arena, and inputting the following sequence:
(On PlayStation consoles) - while holding R2, press Up, Down, Up, Right, Left, Square, Circle, Triangle, Cross

This was also a code input in Bayonetta 2 and loosely spells out the Platinum Games logo on a controller. It skips to the final part of the game and unlocks chapter select, a debug mode, a debug room and the trophy shop early. This normally requires completing a large portion of the game.

NieR Automata director Yoko Taro confirmed this was the game's 'final secret'. In a Famitsu interview, Taro stated such a secret existed, and would 'be a problem if it was ever found out'.
