DESCRIPTION ▼
Microsoft has forced indie publisher Xitilon to revert achievement requirements for a bunch of easy gamerscore games back to their original 'harder' conditions, stating it had broken their achievements policy. The requirements have apparently reverted as of 9 Jan 2021.

Xitilon's games that have had unlock requirements reverted back to their original state:
▸ Pixel Gladiator
▸ Castle of no Escape
▸ Castle of no Escape 2
▸ The Explorer Of Night
▸ ReactorX
▸ Dark Grim Mariupolis
▸ Smart Moves

Xitilon has stated that Xbox claimed they breached an Xbox achievement policy. For reference, Xbox's achievement policy includes this rule - Modifying Active Achievements (XR-060):
""After an achievement has been published to users, it cannot be removed, nor can its unlock rules or rewards be changed. Achievement text strings (name, description) or art (icons/background) can be modified.""

However, many games in the past have had their achievement requirements modified after launch:
▸ Microsoft games like Sea of Thieves, Killer Instinct and Project Spark
▸ Non-Microsoft games like Dirt 5, Rainbox 6 Siege, Destiny 2, Paladins, Disintegration, Trials HD, Overwatch

Interestingly, this month eight Xitilon-published games also received easy title updates worth 1,000G each, some up to 3000G total. The games generally take about 30mins to 1hr to complete. Xitilton state that they are not over-using the Gamerscore system and that other developers are “under-using it because they simply do not care about the Gamerscore much"".
