Mae goes alone to the mines to confront the people that tried to murder her, but was saved by Gregg. Going deeper into the hole we find out the murder cult that has been killing people are just a bunch of crazed boomers, however we also find out they're the ones they killed Casey. Mae's perception of reality still distorts during the way, after taking the elevator, the same guy that's been following Mae (called Eide) does a final attempt at taking her away, but was ultimatedly saved by her own wits but also Angus pulling the lever to the elevator which caused him to get Eide's arm ripped off. While trying to look for an exit Mae spaces out for a moment, with her full realization of the events, then the gang ends up in Germ's well at the backyard, finally being saved by him.
