To get Monado eater you need to do sidequests for Lupa at Nopon village, she is at the Archaeologist section from 18:00 to 3:00,

Mystery of Makna Ruins 1: You need to find 3 archives scattered through Makna Forest.

Mystery of Makna Ruins 2: Now that Lupa deciphered the script, you can explore more of the ruins. A unique enemy is guarding the tomb.
