This week, the one that started it all. Considered the first modern zombie film, Night of the Living Dead. The film was directed by George A. Romero and has since become a horror genre classic. A group of people are trapped in a farmhouse in rural Pennsylvania, USA, as the dead begin to come back to life and prey on the living. The group must work together to defend themselves and survive the night as they try to figure out what is causing the reanimation of the dead. The film is known for its gritty, black-and-white cinematography, depiction of zombies as flesh-eating ghouls, and social commentary on race and violence.
