A new update has added two new NES games and two new Special Edition games to Nintendo Switch Online. The two new games being Kid Icarus and StarTropics, while the Special Edition games being Kirby's Adventure and Zelda II: The Adventure of Link.
The first of the two new games is Kid Icarus, a game that released in 1987 and it only had three games in the series. The GameBoy title Kid Icarus: Of Myths and Monsters only released outside of Japan until 3DS Virtual Console, and it wasn't that well known, and it wasn't till 2012 that Kid Icarus got another game, and it was developed by Masahiro Sakurai, the same person that made Smash Bros., this was likely due to Pit being in Super Smash Bros. Brawl that Sakurai developed Kid Icarus: Uprising for the 3DS.
In this game, Pit must find the Three Sacred Treasures in order to rescue Palutena, the Goddess of Light, who had been captured by Medusa, the Ruler of the Underworld, and save Angel Land. I have heard there are many different endings in this game after rescuing Palutena, and it depends on your performance in this game.
This game is infamously very hard early in the game, it would probably be one of the hardest NES game ever, but at least it was a classic title, and after Kid Icarus: Of Myths and Monsters, it never got a game until 2012.
