An issue that I encountered while playing the recently released NSO expansion that allows you to play GB and GBA games.

This happens exactly where the hundredths of a second in Mario Kart: Super Circuit is displayed, and since that information is constantly changing for every frame the game renders, it is a pretty quick change, so the issue appears after about a minute or so.

Wherever there's a fast moving pattern on the screen, after a short while the pattern will temporarily "burn" the screen and you'll be able to see that pattern staying on the screen for a while. This issue can happen in some monitors and TVs as well.

This burn in doesn't seem to be a permanent issue, so it will not damage your screen, all you have to do for the "burn in" to go away is to put your console in sleep mode for a few minutes. I don't know what happens in prolonged game play sessions. I also don't know if this happens in the OLED model.

This issue was previously documented in 2018, where the same issue happens by using the CRT filter in the NES and SNES collections, and more information can be found in this reddit post: https://www.reddit.com/r/NintendoSwitch/comments/9h2gu8/psa_the_burn_in_may_not_be_burn_in_instead_it/

All of the footage shown in this video was recorded on a Motorola G6 Play running Android 9, which has an option in the built-in camera app that allows you to record videos in high speed, 216.5fps (weird framerate, I know) to be exact, then that video is played back at 30fps. And that's also why there's no audio, because it's slow motion.

It is recommended to watch this video in 1080p as the camera noise sometimes makes it hard to see the issue.
