The 1.08 patch introduced quite a few new features which influences the kunai x shuriken build. A lot of people asked me questions about the opinion on 1.08 patch, in order to give correct answer, I did a complete (i hope so at least =) damage test on the Shuriken/Kunai. The following are my conclusions/findings:

With 654 ninjutsu power:
* shuriken does 587 damage
* kunai does 1018 damage
* storm kunai does 669 x 3 = 2007 damage

After learned ninjutsu mystic art:
* shuriken does 1175 damage (increased 100%)
* kunai does 1832 damage (increased 80%)
* storm kunai does 1205 x 3 = 3615 damage (increased 80%)

For general passive skills:
* Tachi Arts increases the first hit damage of shuriken
* Second Rule of Thrusting increases the shuriken damage
* Deadly Eye does NOT increase the shuriken damage
* Fatal Fist does NOT as well (forgot to record the video)

For damage from behind (DFB):
* By default, DFB deals 55% more damage
* With 12% Shadow Strike, DFB deals 72% more damage
* With 16% DFB Weapon, DFB deals 94% more damage
* (these attributes seems multiply to each other other than add up)

For Agility Damage Bonus (ADB) attribute:
* ADB A provides 61% more kunai damage with agility A
* ADB A+ only provides 1% more damage
* (so it is not necessary to obsess the value A+)
extra information:
* 2 ADB A attribute ends up ADB A+

For some special attributes:
* Change to Attack (any) does not influence kunai damage
* Ninjutsu Damage Bonus A only increase 5% kunai damage
extra information:
* weapon can have Ninjutsu Damage Bonus A attribute now
* it is NOT necessary to wear full Iga set anymore
* 4 (3 with yasakani) Iga mix other set is highly recommended

For guardian spirit:
* sub Nekomata provides more damage than sub Gyokuto
* main Gyokuto + sub Nekomata increase 18% kunai damage
* main Nekomata + sub Gyokuto increase 21% kunai damage
extra information:
* Gyokuto and Nekomata both have Ninjutsu DMG Life Drain!

My general suggestion for Kunai x Shuriken Build in 1.08:
* Take nekomata as main spirit and gyokuto as sub
* Learn storm kunai and bring it for attacking yokai
* Get a weapon with Ninjutsu Damage Bonus A attribute
* Reduce Iga full set to 4 (3) items, mix with other sets
* So far Kingo is the best sub set
* (need check if there is good new sets later)
* Farm a beast charm is necessary, get following if possible:
** Unlimited Ninjutsu +4.9%
** Ninjutsu Power +8
** Ninjutsu Damage Bonus (kunai/s.kunai) A

My general opinion for Kunai x Shuriken Build in 1.08:
* You do a lot more damage with the help of new skill, new guardian spirit and new attributes
* This build should be able to complete every single mission in NG++
* This build is very good at PvP as well (will upload a tutorial video soon)

--- SMALL UPDATE ---
it turns out there are many other affix can benefit shuriken/kunai:
* throwing weapon damage boost
* throwing weapon ki damage boost
* chance to x2 throwing weapon
* ninjutsu damage boost
* throwing speed up

if you want these affix on your armor or accessory, you have to give up some unlimited ninjutsu. in this case, aya-komori becomes the best main spirit again. its 20% unlimited ninjutsu can trade off your loss and it provides a free agility damage bonus affix.
