Nitro Stunt Racing: Hands On @ Jump It Up Reverse
Hello! :D
So what I'm doing here is essentially a sort of fail commentary about this game, Nitro Stunt Racing. If you don't already get the idea ... TRY THE DEMO. seriously. It's a good game and needs more players.
What it's about in a nutshell: Construct a car out of a combination of fighter jet, offroad buggy, and open-wheel racer. Whack two great rocket engines on the back, set the cars up to have so much downforce that they can take loops at 200km/h, then let them loose on some stunt-park-themed race courses.
Unrealstic? Yes. Fun? Very.
Essentially this is about me trying to give a demonstration of some of the tracks as well as each individual car; I explain randomly in each video but mention I will add more detail and data regarding the tracks and cars in the descriptions. So:
___
Track overview:
Name: Jump It Up (Reverse)
Type: Jump
Length: 3.3 kilometers
Average lap time: 50-53s (mostly car dependent)
Highest attainable ground speed (excludes drafting): 250-260km/h
Highest attainable air speed: 270-300km/h
Main Cause of Attrition: Suspension, Engine damage
Track Difficulty: Medium - The reverse track is quite a bit different to the forwards-running variant, in part due to the forwards track being a heavily modified version with several jumps removed or nerfed (old demo gameplay demonstrates this). Less run-off and more accuracy on jumps makes this track harder to negotiate, and going off-road usually results in meeting a gravel-trap and thus, the wall.
AI Challenge: Medium-High - The AI are still no cakewalk but there is a big difference between the AI laps and the fastest laps, especially if you drive the Air-XS wherein you can cut most of the first section of jumps to gain a big advantage. Veterans will find little challenge unless they crash, or run this track on a 10-lap race.
Jump It Up Reverse is the second Jump circuit in the game, and the direct reverse variant of the same-named course. However, unlike most courses its reverse is heavily different from its forward, sharing only the general track direction in common. The presence of many more jumps as well as more gravel-traps make this a more challenging circuit than its original, and the chaos at the start of the race can put several AI - as well as the player - out of contention if they're not careful ... or indeed, lucky.
