Immerse yourself in the chilling story from No Man's Sky lore, "The Signal and the Dying Planet". Can be viewed with a VR headset in immersive 3D.
This is my first time making a video like this. In fact I think it may be the first time anyone has made a 180 VR video out of VR game footage? Probably not but I haven't heard of any!
As such I would extra appreciate feedback and engagement! Did you like it? Was there an issue with the stereo image? Was it uncomfortable/nauseating (warning: a lot of motion in this video. I don't get any motion sickness but others might)? Did you feel 'present' with it? I have my own thoughts on issues and things I could do better in a future video like this but I'd love to hear from others.

To have the best experience with this video I recommend headphones. I also found that I had to adjust the stereo separation in the software I use to view SBS videos (Whirligig). In Whirligig I adjusted it from 0 to -0.64. I'm not sure if this is an issue that everyone will experience. If everyone is experiencing this issue then I'll see about fixing it, if I can, and reuploading.
This SBS video is created because of the (unique?) way NMS is displayed on desktop while playing in VR. The 2 lenses are captured directly from this display, which displays them both at once, allowing you to simply record the display and turn it into a SBS video. I'm not sure if this will be surprising information to anyone? It was something that occurred to me suddenly when looking at the desktop display of NMS in VR. I think it's pretty cool!
I created the audio portion of this over a year ago, as an 'audio story'. But I love the idea of pairing it with 180 video to really make it an immersive story! If people enjoy this I'm hoping it inspires me to make more!
