You will see in the comments on Reddit many feel this is a UI overhaul for portable devices, and the names on the icons found could be short for Portable rather than Portal... Darklord Xeleric has been dropping hints to me for the last week or so to this UI overhaul, rather than looking at portals.
This all still remains speculation, but now has more weight as it's in the game files, please read the full Reddit thread for more information. This video may still be jumping the gun, the UI theory may just be an idea Hello Games was playing with and may not make it into game, just wanted to make a video showing that my Portal Speculation could be way off the mark !!!
